Discover Florence’s famous sights and enjoy a tour of the world famous Uffizi Gallery museum with an expert guide.
Begin your tour with a spectacular birds’ eye view of Florence from the surrounding olive studded hills as we enjoy a short panoramic ride to the historic Etruscan village of Fiesole, noted for its remains of an ancient Roman amphitheater and for its glorious views of Florence. We will get a glimpse of the charming city square with its dominant medieval bell tower (visible all the way from Florence) before stopping to take pictures from a panoramic point overlooking Florence.
A short ride downhill brings you to the banks of the Arno River which we will follow briefly to bring us to the Basilica di Santa Croce, where some of Florence’s most famous residents’, the noted scientists and artists of the Renaissance, including Michelangelo, Galileo and Machiavelli, have their tombs. You will see the church from the Piazza in front, before following your professional guide to the Piazza Della Signoria, the center of Florence’s social and civic life. Here you can admire the imposing architecture of the Palazzo Vecchio, and the famous statues in the Loggia de’ Lanzi, including “Perseus” by Cellini, as well as exact replicas of other famous works now housed in some of Florence’s museums.
Your tour continues in the Uffizi Gallery, the world’s oldest art museum, and the largest collections of Renaissance art. Here you will see world famous masterpieces by Leonardo da Vinci, Giotto, Michelangelo, Botticelli and Raphael… to name a few.
After the guided tour is over, you will have free time to enjoy the museum as much as you like.
