See the best of Tuscany in one easy day tour.
Depart Florence, passing through the famously picturesque rolling Chianti hills, striped with their vineyards, olive groves and cypresses, to visit the incredibly well preserved medieval hilltop village of Monteriggioni with its turreted ring walls still intact.
Then explore Siena, renowned for its Gothic architecture and the dramatic central “Campo” where the world famous Palio horse race takes place. Let your guide take you through the stunning Piazza del Campo with the impressive Torre del Mangia dominating the oddly shaped, sloped public square. Then visit the massive Siena Duomo, one of the most impressive in Italy, famous for its intricate marble floors, the impressive façade and the stunning interior.
A short drive then brings us to the UNESCO recognized San Gimignano, the hill town famous for its forest of medieval towers and the famous white wine, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, which you can explore on your own, admiring the picturesque streets and squares, and gazing at the spectacular landscape.
We finish the day with a visit to Chianti, with a chance to taste Chianti wine and olive oil and other homemade snacks at an authentic winery admiring the world famous landscape.
